Survey Scoring

< Back

Check the Survey Response Scoring (previously known as Enable Scoring Survey Responses) box in Survey Settings to configure the Score Levels tab. Depending upon your survey questions design, each question gets scored based on the question type and your scoring options configuration. A survey aggregate score is calculated using the average score of all the questions in the survey. SurveyVista supports two types of scores:

  1. Raw Score: Raw score is the score you have configured for a question based on answer choice scores. E.g. For a Single Choice (previously known as Radio Question) with 3 answer choices as follows Satisfied: Score 10, Neutral: Score 7 & Not Satisfied: Score 3. When a participant selects Neutral, the Raw Score will be 7.
  2. Percentage Score: Percentage score is calculated using the selected answer score and maximum possible answer score for a question E.g. For a Single Choice (previously known as Radio Question) with 3 answer choices as follows Satisfied: Score 10, Neutral: Score 7 & Not Satisfied: Score 3. When a participant selects Neutral, the Percentage Score will be 70.

Note: There are ways to configure advance and custom scoring for a survey and a question. Contact us @ support@SurveyVista.com.

Within the score levels tab, you can define qualitative score levels such as High, Medium or Low based on a survey score range. You can also configure a color to be associated with each label.

Note that each entry must have mutually exclusive score ranges. See example below.

You can define the default Scoring Method as either Raw or Percentage, that you would like to display while reviewing data within the dashboard >> Survey Metrics.

To learn more about question and survey scoring, review Question and Survey Score Calculation.

Note: We recommend that you do not change the scoring method or score ranges once you have started collecting data. The changes will not be reflected in completed survey scores.
