Migrate a Survey from Sandbox Org to Production Org

To migrate a survey from one Salesforce org to another Salesforce org (such as a sandbox org to a production org), follow the steps:

  • Install the SurveyVista package on Production Org
  • Set-up an Experience Cloud Site (previously known as community), if your use case requires survey response collection from guest users as per knowledge base article
  • Assign appropriate permission sets to the user(s) as per knowledge base article
  • Export Survey from Sandbox org as per knowledge base article
  • Import exported survey to production org as per knowledge base article
  • Export and Import survey translation to production org as per knowledge base article
  • Go to Survey Details and upload the Logo image
  • Go to the Survey Design Options and Upload the Background Image under the Background section
    • If Default design color options (such as Background, Section Colors and Question Colors) are configured with a null(blank) value in the sandbox, configure it again in the production
  • Go to Survey Settings
    • In the Notification area, if your requirement is to use a custom notification email template, create one by following the steps as per knowledge base article and select the same
    • Configure and set the Org Wide Email Address as the Sender Email Address (previously known as From Email Address)
    • Link the survey to an Experience Cloud Site (previously known as community)
  • If you include images in the Landing Page, Sections, Questions, Answer Choices, or Thank You Page within the sandbox environment (using the rich-text editor image icon or by utilizing a code snippet), you must also upload them to the production org.
  • Verify the question dependency, response mapping rules and link records
  • Preview your overall survey
  • Conduct a smoke test run of the survey by assigning it to a test user/contact/email address
  • If you have set up any custom flow or process to do a survey assignment on Sandbox Org, conduct a smoke test run of your survey use case
  • Change the survey status from ‘Draft’ to ‘Open’
  • If you have set up a customized report and/or customer report types, configure the same on Production Org
